The position of Technical Consultant will be based from our head office in Wiltshire with flexible working from home available.

 

Job Purpose

An IT Consultant with experience spanning a vast-array of technologies from Networking, Servers and Storage through to Microsoft 365, Azure and Cloud Security, capable of applying that knowledge in a consultative and presales environment. Having a methodical approach to problem-solving and an enthusiastic "can do" attitude. Willingness to learn from others while striving to benefit and add value for our customers is hugely important. You are keen to learn, progress and willing to study for industry recognised qualifications as well as being an exceptional technical professional, who is willing to learn from others.

 

Main Duties of Technical Consultant

• Provide Technical Presales Support to the commercial team

• Delivery of Projects and Consultancy as the lead resource

• Support the Service Delivery Team as a 4th line escalation

• Work with customers on their Technical Roadmap and provide guidance and recommendations

Essentials Skills

• At least 10 years' experience progressing through a service desk 1st/2nd/3rd line to Technical Consultant

• Methodical approach to problem solving

• Experience with Microsoft 365 including Modern Endpoint Management and Security

• Microsoft Azure (Migration, Deployment and Management of services)

• Comfortable communicating at all levels including Management, Senior Leadership Team and Board/Directors

• Enjoys being customer facing in presales and road mapping meetings supporting the commercial team

 

Desirable Skills

• Microsoft Azure / Microsoft 365 / Modern Desktop certifications

• Advanced networking, VLANs, STP, LACP

• Secure networking, VPNs, ACL, IPS, IDS

• SonicWALL security appliances

• Experience with Azure Site Recovery

• Microsoft SQL, Power BI, Data Visualisation

• Penetration Testing / Vulnerability Scanning

 

Qualifications

• Desirable Microsoft Certifications (MS-100/101, AZ-104, MS-500)

• Desirable Security Certifications (Security+, CEH)

37.5 hours a week Mon-Fri, due to the nature of the job some work at weekends and outside of normal hours may be required. Travel to customer sites may be required so the ability to travel as and when required is essential.
