The Best Tips To Beat The January Blues!

January has arrived. The most miserable of all the months. The winter has really kicked in, and there's not a Christmas tree in sight to make any of it any better! 

 

The festive cheer is well and truly over, and you're back at work like the holidays never even happened. However, January doesn't have to consist of the blues, and depressing times. Let's put some happiness back into the first month of a very new decade!

 

Here are our top tips on how to bring joy into January:

 

 

Take in your surroundings

 

This may seem like a simple one, however it is one of the most effective! Most people miss the beauty of nature in the winter due to being wrapped up in the warm, but pop outside - even into your garden and you'll see beautiful things.

 

The crisp, cold frost on the tree's, the sound of the birds in the morning (did you know that the Tawny Owl is at it's loudest in the winter?) - the woodpeckers that start drumming in January. The breading season of the fox means that you are more like to see and hear Vixen's trying to attract her mate.

Ditch the new year's resolutions

 

It's always good to have goals to aim for. However, most people tend to create impossible resolutions that can make you feel worse when you end up breaking them. 'Don't eat any chocolate for the whole of the year' 'go to the gym twice a day, 7 days a week' both of which are completely ridiculous - how can anyone go without chocolate for a year?! 

 

There is always so much focus on the things we should change about ourselves, when really we should be making resolutions about staying exactly the same, because being you is good enough!

 

'New Year, New Me' - let's ditch that and stay our perfect selves.

 

 

Give yourself something to look forward to 

 

Everything you will see advertised now will be about holidays! So why not give yourself something to look forward to, and book one yourself?! 

 

It could be a sun-soaked vacation in the tropics, or just a small getaway to see family or friends, anything that you book will give you something to look forward to in the future. 

 

If holidays aren't your thing - maybe you can organise a night out with pals, or even set yourself a goal to save up for that handbag you've had your eye on.

 

Giving yourself something to look forward to can really boost spirits and create a happy vibe to surround yourself with.

 

 

 

 

De-Clutter

 

We all have it. That one draw that keeps all of the junk - or the spare room that you was meant to decorate into the guest room, but actually it's just become a room to keep all of our extra furniture or boxes we are yet to unpack!

 

De-cluttering can be great for the mind and soul. Forcing yourself into decisions on what you really need to keep, and what can be chucked away can give you a great sense of being in control of yourself and your life! 

 

Not only can it be great for your wellbeing, but you also create extra space. Space to work, or think, or maybe even just too dance around - getting things out of the way can give you room to do whatever you desire. 

 

 

 

Relax!

 

Life is for living not for stressing.

 

Think about what means the most to you and go for it, treasure it and enjoy it.  Sometimes we can all get wrapped up in striving for what we think makes us a success, but do you know what – most of the time you will find you are already successful - you have what really matters already.
 
Yep, we admire the Ferrari in the garage up the road, but we’d take our lot any day – being with family, doing what we love to do for a living, and taking the time to step out and look in and appreciate what we have – sounds cheesey but we do love cheese!
