SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT TEST ENGINEER

We require a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to work closely with the testing and development functions in delivery of an effective test automation solution.

 

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Help build, maintain and continuously improve the automation framework and associated policies. Using these policies, design, write and execute automated tests.

  • Develop infrastructure tools such as ‘simulators’ and ‘stubs’ to support the automated testing and maximize coverage.

  • Help implement and maintain CI capability.

  • Understand and develop complex test data sets.

  • Align to the overarching risk-based approach, maximizing test coverage for the most critical solution features.

  • Communicate and log all Risks, Issues and Dependencies, particularly those relating to automated testing.

  • Peer review activities of automated test scripts.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject

  • Strong programming abilities with expertise in Java, C# & JavaScript

  • Knowledge of Selenium and experience in implementing automation frameworks

  • Strong SQL / DB skills

  • An understanding of CSS / XML

  • Experience using Continuous Integration tools (Jenkins & TeamCity)

  • Experience of working in agile teams and an excellent understanding of JIRA

  • Functional understanding of Qtest / XRAY – Preferably to the API level

Additional skills preferred

  • Ready-made automation framework experience such as Robot Framework, Serenity BDD, Cypress etc.

  • Cross-platform mobile automated testing tools such as Appium or TestComplete

  • Experience of WinAppDriver

  • Experience of Apache Jmeter

  • Documenting APIs – Swagger / Postman

  • Python, Ruby

  • Knowledge of backend services and integrations including microservice architecture

  • Experience with common data structures, algorithms and distributed solutions
