BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Field Based role - Nationwide
Salary £50,000 Per annum

Our Client has an exciting role requiring a high degree of skill & agility to support the growth ambitions of their company. The role will focus on maintaining and developing opportunities with new and developing clients, which utilise our clients network capability and capacity, and managing the account on a day to day basis ensuring we are providing the best service to our customers. You will also actively support in marketing our propositions and developing capabilities in addition to onboarding new external customers to maximise the their network and storage capabilities. 

Business opportunities will be aligned to the company's values, will look to support the company's sustainability goals and ambitions and will align to the company's long-term strategy.

 

About the role

  • Delivery of business objectives highlighted in the Strategy and Growth PDM

  • Managing and developing existing client accounts (KPI and Financial) 

  • Monitoring our performance against agreed service levels with the client / customer 

  • Developing account plans, managing and completing necessary actions to ensure the plans are delivered.

  • Acting as key interface between customer and company, managing the various lines into functions as necessary. 

  • Solutioning client development by providing a structure to the concept(s) so that it is consistent, repeatable and generates optimal results for the client and our business

  • Identifying and mitigating risks associated with customer accounts 

  • Seeking additional revenue through development of existing accounts combined with introduction and development of new accounts 

  • Collaborate with management team to create compelling proposals, presentations, and pitches for prospective clients

  • Developing external logistics relationships, through effective networking

  • Managing and controlling account related costs ensuring they're aligned to budget / plans 

  • Ensuring customer invoices are processed, and cash / debt is managed appropriately 

  • Supporting and managing (where necessary) with the financial modelling (forecasting, budgeting, analysis and business casing)

  • Acquiring comprehensive understanding of possible competitor products, services and strategies

About you

We are looking for a driven self-motivated individual with both logistics and commercial experience in large business. Experience of account management, client management and commercial experience are essential. The ability to work cross functionally with excellent collaborative and networking skills is critical to the success of the role. 

This is a national position, the candidate will be required to work across the current estate, and occasional travel to other UK locations to meet with customer needs. This role will require frequent interaction with customers and constant feedback to both the Strategy and Growth team and operational development team. 

Specific Requirements

This role is field based with travel to other locations as necessary. Full UK Driving licence is required
