Security Engineer (Installation & Maintenance)

£43,000 DOE

South Wales/Bristol/M4/M5 Southwest

An established electrical and security systems engineering provider is seeking an experienced Installation & Service Engineer to join their specialist security division. Operating across the South Wales, Bristol, and wider M4/M5 corridor, this role will support nationwide projects for high-security and blue-light environments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain, commission, and repair specialist security systems and associated equipment

  • Deliver high-quality technical work with strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability

  • Provide technical support and work collaboratively with commissioning, installation, and service teams across new build and upgrade projects

  • Identify and recommend system improvements and additional services to enhance performance and client solutions

  • Work on critical security infrastructure for clients where reliability and confidentiality are essential

Requirements

  • Proven experience in installation and servicing within security systems or similar technical environments

  • Strong IT literacy, with experience managing or supporting data networks, workstations, and servers

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CSCS)

  • Full UK driving licence (company vehicle provided)

  • Ability to obtain or already hold security vetting (NPPV2 equivalent)

  • Professional, proactive, and customer-focused approach

  • Willingness to travel and stay away Monday-Friday when required, with expenses and overnight allowance covered

Desirable

Familiarity with Cathexis video management platforms or similar VMS systems (training provided)
