Overview


An established water hygiene specialist is seeking a Water Treatment Engineer to join its operations team. This is a field-based role offering the opportunity to work across a varied portfolio of client sites, ensuring water systems remain compliant, safe, and effectively maintained in line with current legislation and industry best practice.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on domestic and commercial water systems

  • Carrying out water sampling, temperature monitoring, flushing, disinfection, and chemical treatment

  • Completing remedial works including tank cleans and chlorination

  • Ensuring compliance with ACOP L8, HSG274, and associated water hygiene regulations

  • Accurately recording site visits and works completed using internal systems

  • Identifying and reporting potential system risks or non-compliance issues

  • Maintaining a professional presence on client sites across healthcare, education, commercial and industrial environments

  • Supporting junior engineers where required and contributing to a collaborative team culture

Candidate Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience within water hygiene, water treatment, or Legionella control

  • Sound knowledge of relevant water hygiene legislation and industry standards

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise confidently with clients

  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively

  • City & Guilds qualification (or equivalent) in Water Hygiene

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Ability to obtain Enhanced DBS clearance

  • Problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to identifying improvements will be advantageous.
